The moon is offstage on a tranquil autumn night as it illuminates a landlocked branch of the Kaministiquia River, locally called the Kam. The main branch of the river empties into Lake Superior in Thunder Bay, Canada. The name means "river with islands" in the indigenous Ojibwe language. Reimagined and painted in digital oils from a photograph by my nephew, Brian Coppola.
