Waiting for You
I sit in silence in the summer night,
watching the gentle waves kissing the shore,
waiting for you in fair Diana's light,
unseen but always here, forever more.
I know your loneliness, your heavy heart,
your missing me as I am missing you.
Too early closed the door, we are apart
in body only, our love ever true.
The moon illuminates the quiet sea,
the leaves are whispering in summer's breath,
I am still here as you remember me,
I live among the stars, there is no death.
The promises we made will never die;
together we will roam the starry sky.

I always like to stop and read the plaque on benches celebrating someones life..and if there is no plaque, I think of who may have paused awhile in such a spot before me. A beautiful piece Gina with a lovely poem. l,f,G+

This wonderful tribute touches the heart in far more than just the surface. I love the mood, as always, in this work. F/L

Thanks, Randy, Peter was a great guy, my cousin's husband who left us too soon.

You have communicated, through art and prose, such a wonderful moment. I'm left with a feeling of being suspended in that feeling of anticipation. L

An exquisite work of art, Gina. Lovely moonlit silhouettes and shadows! f/l
RC DeWinter replied:
Glad you like it, Ann, thank you. I am always a bit trepidatious about so much black in landscapes but it worked here.
