waking up in cartagena
i ran away
from your love
as far as I could afford to go
i needed to breathe
without being watched
i needed to sleep
free of octopus arms
to feel my soul untrammeled
unobligated
unobserved
you were kudzu in the garden
smothering everything attempting to
grow

What a wonderful way to start the day, with coffee in this exotic, classically-designed spa at the San Pedro in Cartagena, Colombia. Reimagined and painted from a photograph shared by my neighbor, Chelsea Palmer.

Warm emotive artwork Gina, a strong column holding it all and a bright outlook....free to be. So love this!
