misere
some bridges are built to be crossed
others are better off burnt
and many there are that should be ignored
too rickety to be considered
the best are the bridges we build for ourselves
in this i have been a failure
no matter material
wood steel or stone
despite careful forethought and planning
the bridges i've started all end up the same
unfinished
unsafe
leading nowhere

In various card games, a player who bids misere undertakes to win no tricks.
An unfinished, abandoned railroad bridge sits in moonlight on the prairie outside Aspen in rural Colorado.

A gorgeous and lonely painting displaying exactly what your writing tells about. Bridges are tough to build. It takes a lifetime of learning for some of us. I was a late bloomer and slow learner. I finally got it though. :o) Fabulous work my friend.

Fabulous surreal image and very beautiful but sad poetry, RC! It's never too late to finish your bridge if you are alive and have the will to do it! L/F

Gina, every one of your works along with your words touches upon our achievements, our failures, our sorrows and our joys. Perhaps I should change "our" to "my" because they definitely resonate to me personally. I've fallen through that bridge many times. I was always in too much of a rush to get to the stars - and then I learned it's not a trip you can rush. Thanks for ending my evening with this fantastic work of art. L/F
