If Stone Could Speak
There was a time I lived upon my wings,
Flying as light as air and just as free.
A cosmic playground full of pretty things,
the sky and all it holds belonged to me.
The sun shot gold through clouds as white as snow,
The moon then silvered them all through the night,
The stars - my magick lanterns all aglow -
illuminated pathways for my flight.
A sudden wrench one day and I was caught,
held captive by a mighty unseen hand,
And struggle though I did all came to naught,
Now set in stone and chained to the land,
My wings are stilled, no freedom left to me,
A captive angel tombed in misery.
