landings
when i was strong i could fall
land on stones and rise laughing
the bruises were all external
simply the tattoos of living
now that i am fragile i seek out
softer places to fall
but rarely find them
rough linen is the best i can do
and even landing on that linen marks me
deep creases inside and out
it may be cloth but i need softer
a downfeathered nest on which to rest

Was able to vote again, and also tweeted this wonderful shabby chic style image. Love the palette and textures. I am having fun having a little look around your site. You have such diversity in your portfolio, and the narrative for your images really enhances them. Gotta run now, but I will be back!

How kind of you, Lianne, thank you! Glad you like the result...part of it was adding a slight texture and the rest was using a detailed brush set and impressionist palette.

Oh my gosh Gina this is simply fabulous. I adore the effect - no clue how you did it but it's gorgeous!! F/L T P

I love this impressionist image, RC. Today is my 75th birthday and I find myself relating to your beautiful and sensitive poem "landings", as well. Lovely work, indeed!
