that moon
the moonless night is a chalkboard
an inexorable blank
even the stars are hiding
as if erased by a stern judgmental god
everything buried in blue
although wrapped against the cold
i sit under this pitiless sky shivering
remembering those nights with you
when sweet words were forged into
urgent barbs of passion
and the midnight room exploded
lit by a fireball moon
as golden as our liquid love
but nowhere near as hot
as the inferno we created
and despite the chill i blush
as visions of our glorious shamelessness
dance behind eyes suddenly wet
and i cry out in the void
i want that moon again

About RC DeWinter
Hello and welcome to my portfolio on Pixels/Fine Art America. One of my major artistic goals, with appropriate images, is to create digital paintings that you wouldn't know were digital unless I told you. If I could paint in oils I would...alas my eyes don't work with my hand, so I create most of my art from photographs that I re-imagine. Few of my digital paintings resemble the original photographs very much when I am finished with my vision. Of course I also create work that is clearly digital as well. Here's a bit about me: RC...
