i definitely need a new broom
this one's splintered and worn
ragged and torn
the straws shed like traitorous hairs
from a balding man's head
there is much to be swept away
(not to mention much to be wept away)
and this old thing's
not up to the job anymore
so i'll get me a new broom
(not to mention an outsized handkerchief)
i can't straighten up
and fly right
on this one
