The Place: Saxon Britain, near South Cadbury
The Event: The Battle of Camlann
Mordred, identified as King Arthur's bastard son by his sister Morgaine le Fay (some accounts list Mordred's mother as his other sister Morgause, wife of King Lot of Orkney), directs his army at the fatal battle between father and son. Mordred was killed outright by Arthur, but before he was he managed to inflict a wound that proved fatal to the king.
