Bad Habits
A basket of vegetables fresh from the farm
sits waiting on the table.
Theyre packed with nutrition but, full of contrition,
I dish up some ice cream instead.
I know I should eat them, they'd do me no harm,
but I am all unable.
I much prefer sweets, dairy, starches and meats;
my tastebuds for green things are dead.
The same goes for men; Mr. Niceguy's a bore,
give me the bold marauder.
The bad boy, the sinner, is always the winner,
lust triumphs over common sense.
I know I should ditch them, push them out the door,
but I'm a lamb to slaughter.
For to them I fly when one catches my eye,
so shoot me - I have no defense.

I love your witty and oh so true commentary on views of men and food. I used to suffer from the same. Though, my weakness for cookies more than ice cream is still strong. I had to ban them from my home. Like I had to ban the bad boys from my life. Boring is good. No more drama for me. :o) Love the painting too.

LOL...I am not much of an ice cream eater...certain kinds of candies, all puddings and most pastry excluding cake is my downfall. Thanks, Bunny. Still haven't gotten over the bad boys - but at mt age most of them are dead, well-married or sickly...LOL
