Lost at Sea
As is our custom, we meet by the sea,
no matter what the weather, foul or fair.
The moon tonight is shining brilliantly
as we embrace, eternal love do swear.
For this night is our anniversary;
we celebrate our promise once again,
made oh so long ago, to faithful be
no matter what, and faithful to remain.
The grace of time is short; the bargain made
demands your presence elsewhere all too soon.
Your heart is mine, but Neptune owns your shade
but for these too-brief hours we commune.
For to the ocean's purview we are slaves:
here I remain; you walk into the waves.
