Any fool could see that it would rain,
the stormclouds hung, dark harbingers of doom,
I didn't care, I stepped out in the lane,
willing to risk a downpour in the gloom.
For like the stormclouds, thoughts born of dead love
clustered, thick, brooding, wrapping me in blue.
Perhaps, I thought, a deluge from above
would wash me clean of all amour perdu.
And as I walked, the thunder rumbled loud;
bright forks of lightning split the sullen sky.
And finally the rain, loosed from its shroud,
Poured down in sheets, the earth to purify.
But sodden though I was as Heaven flowed,
Sweet freedom from my pain was not bestowed.

Thank you, Nancy, I begin in Photoshop and then apply filters, brushes, etc., adding and deleting, toning, lighting, etc. It's generally a long process that often requires minute changes and a much precision.
