needing nepenthe
fierce july grips me in its passion
air drenched in the pheromones
of wanting
abandonment
surrender
unlike the wavelets on the lake
i am still
the only movement
the involuntary twitch
of eyelids spreading salt moisture
i glow in the dark
haloed in the nimbus of the unforgettable
my heart
a metronome in six eight
pulsing with the memory of you
this is unsustainable
my chest will burst into a bloody blossom
i force myself up and run breathless
to the waiting water
seeking the baptism of amnesia

I love this painting! Three of my favorite things, sand, water, and the night sky. I love the tones and atmosphere, they give me a sense of peace and eternity, and perhaps a touch of loneliness. And wow, your words... Powerful and beautifully written, and once again I'm in the moment... Gorgeous work Gina! l/f!
RC DeWinter replied:
Surely you must be getting tired of my water, sky and stars...LOL and thank you for your lovely encouragement.
