Although this delicate postcard might not seem overly passionate to us, hearts conveyed serious intentions to the Victorians. A young woman receiving a communication such as this from a man would expect a declaration of love and a gallant proposal in the near future. Were it to be sent or delivered by a somewhat casual male acquaintance, it might properly be refused.
This piece has no photographic elements. Everything on this card was digitally designed and painted from scratch, so to speak.
