On Saturday, May 4 2013, I was at the Pershing Square Theater in Hell's Kitchen, NYC, attending a matinee performance of "Old Hats" starring the brilliant mime clowns Bill Irwin and David Shiner. The cafe entrance to the performance space was crowded with people, chattering, laughing, rushing to tables with food and drink. And, in the middle of all this mayhem sat this young woman, alone on a bench by the wall, completely apart from the activity and noise swirling around her. It's a testament to the power of the printed word to take us away from reality and enchant us into another world.

Lovely piece! Gorgeous color palette. So happy to see someone using an old fashioned book and pen! vf

RC, Fantastic emotional felt painting love the way the young woman is set apart from the other people alone caught up in her book and her own thoughts. Beautifully detailed and great colors used to express this young woman and her clothing and her facial features as she seems very busy involved in what she is doing. Great write up in the description box as a lead in to this great painting. Excellent painting, fav, voted, google and tweet promoted and selected as my Pay It Forward in the Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group
