beyond the door
i'm not opening that door
there's no telling
what lies beyond it
the lock is rusted
into place
needing a chisel and a sledge
to knock it loose
yes
there could be treasure
long sequestered
but just as likely
it's dead bodies
husks of memories
heaped in piles
each one a bitter voice
recalling what is best forgot
yes
tears can be catharsis
but a trickle of salt water
can become a raging flood
ripping open scars
dredging up hurts
best not revisited
no
best leave it locked
i'll take my chances
with the known
i don't need gold
but rather peace
i will not wonder
what lies beyond the door

RC, this just blows me away! Love that post processing magic you worked on it with those fantastic textures to make the colors pop! L/F/S

O that I understand, you still have to find a fascinating subject and that you did! I'm learning about the digital side/magic to make it outstanding as such.
RC DeWinter replied:
ALL art begins in the mind, as I'm sure you know. It is the vision of the artist that makes it ART - not the camera, not the paint nor any other tool.

Ahhh another intriguing door, to spark the imagination! Awesome find and brilliant capture RC! :)
RC DeWinter replied:
Many thanks, Lexa, the shot was technically good but it's the digital magick that makes this interesting. Honest. -)

With a door like that, it's gotta be hell's kitchen on the other side. Am fascinated with the stories that doors can tell. v
