undeck the halls
the corridors of memory
are haunted
midnight blue and madness
linger there
i often long
for the eternal sunshine
of the spotless mind
a clean and well-lit
corridor
no cobwebs clinging
in the corners
no shadows graffiti'ing
the eggshell paint
of puritan undecorated
walls
instead i stumble
through a landmined maze
of mordancy
lit by smoking tapers
and crowded
with the bric-a-brac of
byzantium
