oh lady with the lamp,
you have shed electrons
to the wind and waves,
your copper cladding patinated
to the green of hope.
yet still you stand, resolute,
your message inviolate,
though liberty cringes under assault
from those who would redefine it,
narrowing its bright beam
to shine upon only a fortunate few.
