the peasant revolts
what an appetizing temptation -
life preserved in the amber of tradition
with the bucks to back it up -
you've placed before me
but look where it sits -
on the rough and splintered surface
of the picnic table where i dine -
a jewel in a barnyard
the mud from my boots -
a sticky everpresent reminder
of my heritage -
will smear the shining floors
the careless ash that accompanies me -
always glowing and growing
unnoticed untended -
will scorch the pristine furnishings
i am a wayward hobbledehoy -
a rough untumbled rock not suited
to the gentility of your tribe -
and in the end you would come to hate me

Very appealing light/Shadow, color, subject, and what the stripes do for the composition. f/l
