The Lake of No Regret
When all the world sends back what I'd forget
and sorrow wraps me in its dark embrace,
my rescue is the Lake of No Regret.
And there, bathed in the moon's bright coronet,
I pray the waters sadness to erase,
when all the world sends back what I'd forget.
Its magick manifests to then reset
my thoughts aright in that forgiving place.
My rescue is the Lake of No Regret.
I know not how the charm works to offset
my burdens, but it does, with silent grace,
when all the world sends back what I'd forget.
My sorrows sink in silent silhouette
beneath the surface, leaving not a trace.
My rescue is the Lake of No Regret.
And now unburdened of all karmic debt,
sweet peace returns, my grieving does replace.
When all the world sends back what I'd forget,
my rescue is the Lake of No Regret.

On a tranquil summer night, the full moon illuminates the wind's gentle rippling of this peaceful lake in rural New Jersey. Reimagined and painted from a photograph by Steve Hamburg.
