soap opera
i remember bubbles
and laughter
clothes
thrown on the floor
soaked by the spillage of
water overflowing
as we twisted ourselves
arms and legs akimbo
trying to cram two bodies
into a space designed for one
and the sweetness of slippery skin
and more laughter
and soapy hands sliding into
secret places
and sometimes we'd shower afterward
and sometimes we wouldn't
and stepping out onto cold tile
but never minding
as we roughed each other warm again
with towels the size of bedsheets
it's quiet in there now
lying in the tub is like lying in a grave
even when the water's hot enough
to scald skin
so i don't
not anymore
i hang my clothes
on that old bamboo ladder
you found in a thrift shop
and standing under needlespray
i scrub myself clean
as fast as i can
because
there are no more bubbles
no more laughter
and anyway
it doesn't matter
that i'm crying
because goddammit
i'm already wet

Here is something few would ever choose to portray. You did well RC as always Lovely as can be in every way and well done! FAV
RC DeWinter replied:
Thanks so much, Reynold. It's true that much of what I choose to shoot/paint is a bit unusual, but I find interest in so much of the everyday.
