the wait
life used to be sweet as a peach
heavy with the heat of summer
each bite so juicy
nectar dripped down my chin
now all that's left is a pit
hard and hairy and dry as a bone
with a bitter heart
where cyanide awaits the unwary
i carry this stone in my pocket
as i pace
bored and restless
the corridor of eternity
waiting for the elevator doors to open
i don't much care the direction
up or down makes no nevermind to me
i am unclaimed freight
waiting to be delivered
to a final destination unknown

I LOVE the writing that goes along with this. It takes one there and beyond. The blue beyond the small rectangles in the windows is intriguing.
RC DeWinter replied:
Well, that's eternity out there, Randy, a starry sky. Glad you like the poem, some artwork is easier to address in words than others,

Wow! The title and the image are so creative and hold one's attention and then the poem just adds more to the imagery, Gina! Your soooo very creative! L/F

Perusing your art to see what poetic interpretation goes with it. Love the metaphors in this one, Gina. And the sense of resigned but accepting fate. I am going to pass along your web site here to a poet friend whose style is similar. I think he will really enjoy your dual work. - B.
