the honeycomb
just as citydwellers
bar the beauty they wish to protect
behind windows no one can breach
i have honeycombed my heart
with the wax of self-preservation
a small cell beating with beauty
i wish to protect
from all but the flame of honest love

A beautiful and warm painting. The greenery in the window adds. Your lovely poem is wonderful too. I was once like that. :o)

Ha ha, great title and cool image!! It looks like those poor plants are trying to break free from the bars! Wonderful composition and textures!! :)))vf

Wonderful title Gina. And beautiful work! I love the green trying to escape the bars, and the tones and textures of the wall. The contrast between the life inside the window and the outside is marvelous. And the poem is beautiful and poignant. l/f!

The building could be clouds and sky....my eyes do not see solid.... but the window is a cage...oh there's so much to like here!! F/L+++
